Still playing with this project- we like to make sure we look at the industry and analyze every approach that might turn out a product that fits the industry- 

Sometimes this takes a few iterations… here are two similar concepts with different treatments of the graphic images.

For both, I took a baseball and vectorized it.  Then I removed pieces of the baseball so that when I placed the earth layer under it, the earth would show through in a grungy way.  Then I grouped both images and applied a cutout effect to the first one and poster edging to the second one.  The effects are slightly different- but enough that the second one has a bit more definition and pop.

The type is schoolhouse bully- and was placed in somewhat haphazard curves in illustrator to continue with the rough effect.
