E-commerce Website for As You Wish Design… turns out to be so much more.

This is a special story.
Two really neat ladies found Sprout Design Studios while browsing around looking for someone to possibly expand their blog into an e-commerce website where they could sell their custom jewelry. You can imagine our surprise when they found us on the web so shortly after moving to Spokane.
These two talented women joined forces to create As You Wish Design. They are not just another custom jewelry team- each piece they craft has a special story and not only means a lot to the people who receive them- but to both the artisans as well- they genuinely care about aesthetics and being mindful in their work.
It’s been three weeks since we first met and I am happy to share… Wish Mamas Design is just about complete. Please take a look at the screenshot. It was an absolutely GREAT project to work on- these women had great vision and knew what they wanted- a designers dream.
But…
there has been a bit more to this story than that… these ladies and their project really made me re-evaluate what I want to put out there as a designer and also to realize that maybe my greatest shortcoming is in thinking that I have so many- when maybe other people see me differently. Maybe other people see me as talented or having something to offer. Kind of heady stuff when you think you’re just gonna slap up a website.
So this afternoon on the drive home after meeting with them I thought, could I make a difference through design? I normally just slap up an image here and quickly blog about it- but maybe the difference in Sprout- is the human interest side to it. Afterall, this process was not only a great dream business endeavor, but to also challenge the rules on how this business is done.
To be kind. To be mindful. To make a difference in our own way. To NOT just be another portfolio. To NOT just be about bottom lines and stepping all over people. To be a champion for small business. To be a champion for good.
And if I’m going to put that out there and give the respect that my clients deserve, I don’t want to just slap things up here- I want to be sure to tell the stories too. So maybe I need to go back a bit. Engage. Tell the stories and the design… well… maybe the connections are more important in the end.
What happened today? A realization that I need to really give it my all- ’cause I know my all is REALLY good if I just let it out.
In the meantime, if you are interested in buying their jewelry, give them a look www.wishmamasdesign.com
They are fun, dreamers, real and wildly talented- and their craftsmanship truly is magical, peppered in love- as only a Wish Mama could.
Lots of love and re-thinking,
Mack
